Pre-purchase tickets
- Tickets are $1 each.
- Each ticket represents a chance to ‘own’ a player in the Huon Valley Open.
- A random draw prior to the auction determines who ‘owns’ which player.
Auction
- All players are auctioned off to the highest bidder.
- If the ticket holder wins the auction, they only pay half the auction price.
- If someone else wins the auction, the ticket holder is paid half the auction price.
Example
- Player 1 is drawn to John (ticket holder).
- Sarah participates in the auction and has the winning $100 bid for player 1.
- John (ticket holder) is paid $50.
- Sarah (the winning auction bidder) pays $100 and now has the player in the Open.
Strategy
You own the player. It is in your best interest to increase that player’s value so that you earn more money. Drive the bid up yourself!
